Happy Independence Day!

So, apparently this is another first for me. I was told this morning that we are celebrating Independence Day. I don't really get it, but Mommy put me in this cute little outfit and is now taking pictures of me.

I have been hanging out alone with Mommy and Daddy this morning because Austin slept at Grandma and Grandpa's house last night so he could go to the parade with them this morning. He must be getting to be a big boy because this is his first year doing that. I am sure he is going to have a great time since he will see fire trucks and have candy and other goodies thrown in his direction.
Hey, look at that, there are stars on my dress. I think I like this celebration stuff!
Anyway, back to my story. Later we will be going to Grandma and Grandpa's house to join up with Austin and some other family. They will eat some good food. I will stick to my cereal. Then in the evening we will go and see some fireworks. Well, maybe I shouldn't say we. I, will hopefully be sleeping and not scream my little head off when they start. Oh the sacrifices of being the youngest child.
Independence is a good thing. I am learning a little bit about that lately. I have learned to do some things all by myself and I like how that feels. Mommy and Daddy say that we are celebrating a different sort of independence that I will understand much more about later in my life. They say that independence feels really great too, and we owe the freedom we have to some brave and amazing men and women. We know a few people like that personally and are so grateful for their service to our country.
I sure hope you have a really wonderful 4th of July! Be safe and be sure to reflect on all the great things we enjoy because of the sacrifices of others.
Love,
Mia
